PROPOSAL NUMBER ONE, AN AMENDMENT

Amendment to Protect Against Unequal Treatment

 

This proposal would protect against unequal treatment based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity and pregnancy. It also protects against unequal treatment based on reproductive healthcare and autonomy.

A “YES” vote puts these protections in the New York State Constitution.

A “NO” vote leaves these protections out of the State Constitution.

Patterson Library’s budget was last increased by public vote in 2021. The proposed budget increase for 2025 will sustain and expand quality programs, materials and services; meet rising costs; and comply with NYS mandated wage and benefit increases. The request for additional funding is as follows:

Shall the annual contribution of the Town of Patterson for the Patterson Library be increased by $60,970 (sixty thousand nine hundred seventy dollars) to the sum of $1,077,130 (one million seventy-seven thousand one hundred thirty dollars) annually?
